Sheku is an experienced researcher, academic, management training consultant, planner and policy analyst with a profundity of knowledge in the Public and Private Sectors. He has a lengthy experience and proven track record of the Sierra Leonean civil service and the British and Sierra Leonean educational systems - civil servant (senior planning officer) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security; senior lecturer at the University of Sierra Leone; and lecturer at the Universities of Chester and Salford. Sheku has worked not only as a Financial and Economic consultant for FAO on SMEs in Sierra Leone but has also worked as part of a team of academic consultants that conducted capacity building on West African Import and Export Structures, Sources and destinations for ECOWAS. He was a member of the World Food Day and Tele Food Planning Committee. On the humanitarian front, Sheku was the Executive Director of Square in the United Kingdom - a nongovernmental organization that trains young adults and dissuades them from engaging in anti-social behavior. He received a BSc (Hons.) degree from the Njala University College, University of Sierra Leone; a Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands; and MSc and MBA degrees from the University of Greenwich, UK. Sheku holds a Ph.D., in Business Management (Marketing/strategy) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Salford. He is also a Fellow (FHEA) and certified external examiner of the United Kingdom Higher Education Academy.
