Dean Sinković is an Assistant Professor of Economics, Vice Dean for International Affairs & Business Relations and Managing Editor for the Journal Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković“, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. In a period 2015 - 2017, he served as a Vice Dean for Research and International Relations. He currently works as a visiting professor at the International Joint Cross-Border Ph.D. Program, University of Applied Science, Fachhochshule Burgenland (Austria) and at the graduate program, International Burch University in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He also served as a visiting professor at the MBA program, Albstadt Sigmaringen Hoschshule (Germany, 2006-2008). In 2016, he was appointed as an Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia for Economy, Finance and EU funds and held numerous visiting lectures and keynote presentations at universities and institutions in Europe, South America and Asia. Dr. Sinkovic holds an MS and Ph.D. in Economics from Juraj Dobrila University of Pula and an MBA from University of Illinois at Chicago. His academic background is in teaching and research on economic growth, development economics, investments, financial development, economic policy and microfinance. He authored and coauthored many research papers and published chapters in several books. Along with prof. Milford Bateman was one of the first open critics of the microfinance model developed by Mohammad Yunus, which he published in internationally recognized journals and books. During his MBA time in Chicago, he also worked for Archer Daniels Midland Company at the Chicago Board of Trade trading unit. Dr. Sinkovic coordinated several large-scale investment projects in Croatia and was a member of the supervisory board of Plinacro, the largest natural gas transmission system operator in Croatia.
