This module is designed to give managers the working knowledge and understanding needed to manage information systems within a modern business environment. The module will consider the need for and use of information systems within a modern business environment. It will investigate IT developments such as communication and information systems, security, and office systems.

This lectures and workshops will provide students with the skills to:

• explore the relationship between a business strategy and an information strategy;
• develop an understanding of information strategy development;
• explore the critical success factors in information strategy implementation;
• develop an understanding of and explore appropriate methods and techniques for information strategy, information development, implementation and evaluation;
