We focus on the economic aspects of competitor and market analysis to design, implement, and monitor a firm’s business strategy. Lectures and case studies present selected topics on the economics of strategy, industrial organization, and strategic management, but the heart of the course revolves around a sophisticated, whole-of-enterprise computer simulation exercise through which students gain intensive practical experience in strategic management. Students are organized into teams, and the teams compete against each other within the simulation as well as against thousands of other teams from around the world. Ethical decision making and corporate leadership are key components of the simulation and of the course.
